German Milling School Braunschweig (DMSB)
Tomorrow’s specialists – Website relaunch
After six months online, the objectives of the website relaunch have been achieved: detailed analyses using various tools show that the target-group-relevant approach in text and imagery is successful. The young, fresh, target-group-oriented design for the German Milling School Braunschweig (DMSB) ensures that this globally unique training program becomes more visible both domestically and abroad. A clear structure and navigation offer easy access to information regarding the studies. At the same time, the process of entering data and information into the backend was simplified, which was a key requirement from the client.
What we did
The client
German Milling School Braunschweig (DMSB)
The German Milling School Braunschweig (DMSB) offers modern, practical training in the field of milling and plant engineering. Close links with industry and science ensure that graduates with the qualification of “State-certified Technician” or “Bachelor Professional” have the best career prospects not only in milling operations but in many other sectors. The DMSB looks back on a tradition of over a hundred years and maintains a close and stable network through its support association and the “Glück zu” fraternity.
The Challenge
Making an attractive training offer visible to young people and companies
Inspiring young people for a traditional craft with a future and sparking interest in studying at the DMSB is essential in times of skilled labor shortages. To achieve this, it was necessary to effectively present the unique range of courses and the state-of-the-art training at the DMSB, tailored to the young target group. At the same time, companies in the milling industry are to be addressed and made aware of the possibilities and advantages of dual training from an employer’s perspective. The previous website no longer met these requirements: in addition to an outdated corporate design, updating content was also cumbersome.
The Concept
A website to reach all target groups
The structure of the website was optimized and tailored to the respective target groups in terms of appearance and tone. Young people in Germany and worldwide looking for a specific training offer find the content clearly structured and available in two languages (German and English), on desktop or mobile. Companies that use the training offer as a recruitment tool and/or support the DMSB as sponsors are addressed on a separate page, “For Companies“.
The Result
A fresh site with clear navigation and easy backend maintenance
The site is fully responsive, offering a mobile browsing experience without any hurdles. The existing content was editorially revised and linguistically adapted to the various target groups. Navigation through the content and information about the school meets the browsing habits of the young target group and makes registration as easy as possible. In the “Success Stories” section, graduates have their say and provide vivid insights into professional life “after the DMSB.” For the second target group—potential partner or sponsoring companies—the website also provides relevant information in a clear format. All social media content is linked directly on the website. For the client as a backend user, it has become much easier to maintain and keep the revised website up to date—a central request of the client. The result: less “bureaucracy” on both sides—for website visitors and on the client side.
